How it works
No travel necessary!
By registering in our online division you still get your great custom designed sash and signature rhinestone crown, still get to promote an important cause or charity that is close to your heart, and still get all the attention and spotlight of being a MVSI Queen! Total cost of participation is $250, less than half of what it costs to compete in person. You could be out promoting your brand new title in as little as 2 weeks! We will have national and international winners in the Social Media category in each division.
1. Click on the "Join US" Link of our Website.
We typically respond to requests within 24 hours. Georgiana or another member of the MVSI team will email you to set up a time for an introductory telephone or skype interview (this is the procedure for our regular queens too). During your interview, let us know you want to compete online. We will help you to create the custom wording of your sash and send you a PayPal invoice for your entry fee. You can announce on social media that you have been awarded a title from Miss Volunteer Service International the SAME DAY!
2. Get Your Swag.
Upon receipt of your PayPal funds, we will order your crown and sash. Delivery times on these can very widely, especially for our International Queens. We will also add you to our private Facebook Group, just for MVSI Queens, so you can socialize, see what everyone is up to, get ideas for events or service projects, and keep up to date with plans for our international competition in Hilton Head, SC.
We will also send you your Queen's handbook, a press release to send to local media announcing your new title, a sponsorship guide, paperwork for tracking your service hours, and a certificate suitable for framing.
3. Start Queening!
As soon as you receive your sash and crown you can start making official pageant appearances. Each appearance you make should be photographed or streamed via live video (facebook live, periscope, etc), marked with the appropriate hashtags provided in your handbook, and shared on social media. Make sure it gets shared with us on our MVSI Facebook page!
Six weeks prior to competition, we will expect to receive a slideshow or video full of photos of your appearances and volunteer work.
IF you would like to receive the Presidential Volunteer Service Award, keep track of your hours in the log provided in your handbook.
In addition to the slideshow with your appearances, you will film a three minute video entitled "I Care" describing your platform issue and why you care about it. These will be uploaded to our YouTube Channel prior to competition.
Our judges will review your submissions according to scoring provided in your handbook and announce the winners in each division live on Facebook during our competition in August 2017.
